PR Intern – Imogen PR. We can’t deny that interning at PR Agency could be tiring. Even though some interns usually only do one or two things such as media monitoring or reporting, there are also many stories of interns successfully ingratiate their supervisor which earns them a permanent spot as junior PR for PR Intern.

Be it starting your first PR Intern experience or doing it again for the umpteenth time, there would always be new things to learn and gained from the experience. To make the internship as a valuable experience to learn about PR and get a positive feedback from co-workers, below are a few tips you could do:

1. PR Intern Should Know The Common Rules of The Office (Working Hour, Lunch Time, Dresscode)

Usually every office has their own Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for their worker, including the PR Intern. Ask your supervisor for written information about it, rather than risking yourself becomes the mock of the office just because of your attire.

2. Don’t hesitate to show a good work ethics

show the effort from simple things like attire to the enthusiasm in doing the task given to you. Don’t be an ignorant or cool person who doesn’t care about work and unwilling to accept orders.

3. Fellow interns are not competition

hey could be one of your saviors later on. Get to know them during lunch, find out their background. Who know, they could be one of your co-workers in the future.

4. Communicate with your parents about the changes that will happen in your life once the internship starts

Parents could be a good sounding board when you have problems and don’t hesitate to ask for their opinion. Parents are a great source of motivation when you need it.

5. Don’t focus only at your work; keep socializing with your friends and hangout with them

Even though your time might be consumed by PR Intern program, doesn’t mean you have to forget your friends. Set aside some time to catch up with your friends over lunch.

6. Get to know and befriend people from other division; it could be a strong network in the future

There are 5 different business units at the office, and I’m grateful I know some people at other division, which help me get countless data to ease my work. Moreover, I got to go to various cool events with them.

7. Always think your job is important, no matter how small it is

Your work will always be appreciated even if its not directly to PR Intern. Remember, you’re hired for a reason.

8. Experimenting with your work is not prohibited

Shows your initiative on something new. If you’re wrong, then at least you’ve shown your enthusiasm.

9. Ask, a lot. Especially to those who work alongside with you, they have ample of experience

Make your PR Intern program your moment to know the industry in which you’ll have a career on later. Ask them about the crisis they’ve handled or simply the funny story about the clients.

Who knows, you might need to spend more money on transport or buying a few things during your internship program.

Remember, you spend so many hours on your internship program, don’t let yourself not enjoying all the process. Taught yourself to remain passionate about it.

Typo on an e-mail, or other small things that made you embarrassed yourself is normal.

You don’t want to be labeled as the softies by your co-worker. A little bit cliché, but make those input and critics your motivation to go further.

social media and funny chats from friends could wait but your PR Intern not.
